University Hospitals 

University Hospitals of Cleveland, adjacent to Case Western Reserve University, is internationally recognized for patient care, research and teaching.  In addition to the medical/surgical hospital, the main campus includes University McDonald Women’s Hospital, Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital, a psychiatric treatment facility and a skilled nursing facility.  The development of diverse multidisciplinary centers such as the University Ireland Cancer Center, the University ElderHealth Center, the University Musculoskeletal Institute and the Center for International Health coordinates the comprehensive approach to subspecialty care.  In 1994, University Hospitals opened the new Lerner Patient Tower and Mather Pavilion.  These new inpatient and outpatient adult facilities complement the superior patient care environment that attracts patients from around the world to the hospital. 

 

University Hospitals’ affiliation with Case Western Reserve University forms Ohio’s largest biomedical research center.  This academic atmosphere assures that all treatments and procedures represent the most advanced medical knowledge and technology available. 

 

Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine 

University Hospitals of Cleveland is a major teaching facilities for the Case Western Reserve School of Medicine.  The School of Medicine is adjacent to University Hospitals.  The unique Case Western Reserve University medical curriculum is structured primarily around the functions of the human body, teaching the basic scientific principles along the way.  The school’s research program, one of the largest in the nation, also uses the interdisciplinary approach - concentrating on finding new therapies for such major human illnesses as arthritis, cancer, cardiovascular disease, respiratory disease and the problems of the very old, very young and the underprivileged in this country and the developing world. 

 

 

 

Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM)

LECOM is the Sponsoring Institution for the University Hospitals Osteopathic Approved Internship, beginning in 2006. Current pariticpating departments are Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, and OB/GYN.
