News

Jonathan Ross, MD will be joining UHMG as Division Chief of Pediatric Urology in May 2009.
Dr Sanjay Gupta has been awarded endowment for the Carter Kissell Foundation.
Dr Edward Cherullo, MD, is the Residency Program Director, University Hospitals of Cleveland.
Dr Craig Zippe, MD, has joined the Department of Urology and will begin working at the end of October, 2008. He will be working out of Bedford and other sites.
Dr David Hartke, MD and Dr Sanjeev Shukla, PhD, have joined the Department of Urology as Instructor.
Dr. Seftel has been selected to America's top doctors for the years 2001-2004.
Dr. Seftel is the member of the editorial board for the Journal of Andrology: Current Surgery and Editor of the Sexual Medicine Section for the Journal of Urology's Urologic Survey Section.
Dr. Seftel has authored and edited a book titled: "Male and Female Sexual Dysfunction" published by Mosby, an imprint of Elsevier Ltd. The associate editors who have contributed to this book are Harin Padma-Nathan, MD, FACS, FRCS; Chris G McMahon, MB, BS, FACSHP; Francois Giuliano, MD, PhD; and Stanley E Althof, PhD.
 

Fundings

Dr. Gupta and Dr. Li received funding from Case Comprehensive Cancer Center to study the effect of green tea polyphenols in patients undergoing radical prostatectomy.
Dr. Gupta received a RO1 grant from National Institute for Complementary and Alternative Medicine to investigate the use of chamomile, a german tea against prostate cancer.
Dr. Gupta received a RO1 grant from National Cancer Institute to investigate the molecular mechanisms involved during prostate cancer chemoprevention with apigenin, a plant flavonoid abundantly present in common fruits and vegetables.
Dr. Gupta received a RO1 grant from National Cancer Institute to study the role of green tea polyphenols in reactivation of GSTP1 gene, silenced in prostate cancer.
